Black Panther Rules Box Office

Marvel’s latest superhero flick, Black Panther, has managed to dominate the weekend box office and dominate other superhero movies.

Black Panther, the first Marvel film with a cast who is mainly black, focuses on T’Challa, otherwise known as Black Panther, who is set to rule Wakanda, but is challenged by a rival from his childhood.

Black Panther earned over $400 million dominating the box office, and earning the fifth highest opening for a film in US history, trailing behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Jurassic World, and The Avengers. It also beats the record for highest February opening weekend total, taking the record held by Deadpool.

Not only does it rule the box office in its first week, but it scores a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, the highest score for a superhero flick. It also takes the cake for the best film this year so far, according to Rotten Tomatoes.
