National Honor Society Inducts New Members
This past Wednesday, Lamar’s National Honor Society (NHS) inducted its newest members.
The ceremony took place in the auditorium with speeches from both NHS officers and Principal Lesley Maroney.
After every speech, one of the Four Foundations of the NHS chapter was recited by officers followed behind the lighting of a candle from the Light of Knowledge.
As the inductees’ names were called, they excitedly walked up the stage to receive their certificates. Each new member shook hands with the Principal, the NHS President, NHS Vice President and they received candles to light during the NHS pledge.
The NHS President – Favour Okocha cited the NHS pledge to officially serenade the inductees. After the pledge, the new members blew out their candles and were officially inducted into the National Honor Society.
