Varsity Cross Country Qualifies for UIL Regional Meet
In an exciting close to the school week, the Lamar Cross Country Boy’s Varsity Team has qualified for the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Regional Meet.
The regional meet will be held in Lubbock this year.
A year ago, then 11th grader Cooper Schutte was the only runner to qualify. He was determined to take his team along with him this year. Much to the excitement of Schutte, now a senior and team leader – the entire team qualified.
This will be Lamar’s first appearance in the 6A division. Joining Schutte are teammates Erick Acosta, Max Burger, Daniel Marquez, Oswaldo Marquez, Chris Miranda and Benjamin Powers.
“They believed they could and they did,” Coach Ronniqua Camp shares. “What a great group of guys to represent our school.”
