Lamar Welcomes New Administrator
The new year brings a new presence to campus – Myrna Vazquez. She is the Associate Principal and will be supporting all grade levels here at Lamar.
Vazquez has had a long journey in education and wants to continue a trend of success for many years to come.
“I’ve been in education for 21 years now,” she shares. “I was at Sam Houston for five years as an Assistant Principal.” Vazquez. I also was a Dean of Instruction in Irving ISD.”
Vazquez also served as a Bilingual ASL Coordinator for four years, so she arrives to Lamar with a great deal of experience. Throughout her two decades of service, she has seen it all, but she says Lamar stands out from all her other schools.
“High school is high school – every high school has different wants and needs and I think the difference I have seen about Lamar that makes it stand out is the intensity.”
