Summertimes approaching fast which means its time for the shorts, sandals and sunscreen. Where kids run outside and play like theres no tomorrow. Staying healthy is important so here are a few simple snacks that will keep the kids nice and energized so they can play all day and make those same memories we have now of staying out till the street lights come on

  1. Frozen Fruit Snackers- Grab you some grapes, watermelon, and strawberries and a few sandwich bags. Wash the grapes and strawberries off before putting a few of both in the sandwich bags. Then proceed to cut up the watermelon into small squares and place them into the bags as well. Place the bags in the freezer for a few hours and they will be ready for when the child needs a cool, refreshing snack.
  2. Fruit Pops- All you need for this recipe is 1 cup of strawberries or any of your favorite fruits, Juice from 1 lime and half a cup of water or coconut milk. Blend all of the ingredients together, pour them into a mold, place them in the freezer, and let freeze overnight.
  3. Juicy Slushies- Take some reusable cups from your cupboard (cut down on plastic to help the environment) and grab your favorite juice. Pour the juices into the cups and place into the freezer. After a few hours when the kids need a break they can grab a spoon and a juice cup and have their own homemade juice slushie.

Staying healthy and hydrated is very important especially in the summer in  Texas. Make sure you drink plenty of water and keep your skin safe with sunscreen. Use bug spray to prevent mosquito bites and if they still attack you just be sure to use rubbing alcohol and a cold spoon to give you relief from the itchiness. But most importantly enjoy your summer of 2019 and make it one to remember.
